New Performing Arts Centre entry.

Belmont High School is an Australian public high school located in Belmont, Victoria, a suburb in the city of Geelong. It is one of the largest public schools in Geelong. The school was established in 1955 and as of 2019, it has an enrolment of over 1300 students from years 7 to 12.

A new performing arts centre was identified as the priority after a Masterplan was conducted in 2016. Connected to their Gymnasium, this new building provides the school with a 300 seat performance space, music, drama, soiree and multipurpose spaces along with a new canteen. Working in collaboration with MINX Architects, TCG delivered the following building services solutions for briefing to construction.

TCG Engineering Solutions

TCG worked with MINX Architects to perform the following key engineering services.

  1. Electrical Services - Lighting, power, solar, audiovisual, communications, data, security, CCTV, emergency warning.

  2. Data/comms infrastructure - Infrastructure cabling and outlets.

  3. Mechanical Services - Air conditioning, heating, ventilation, piping, energy management and control systems.

  4. Fire Services - Fire detection and suppression systems, hydrants, sprinklers, alarms.

  5. Hydraulic Services - Sanitary plumbing, waste treatment systems, hot & cold water, gas reticulation, trade waste.

Retractable seating provides flexibility within the performance space, which can be used for a variety of large group activities.
